PAUL MCGLADDERY

I initiated my coaching career at Blackburn Rovers FC, specializing as a Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) coach before progressing to an academy coach role with all age groups up to and including the under-18 squad. Over a five-year tenure, I oversaw the management of regional development centres across the North West of England, enhancing talent identification and player development processes.

Subsequently, I spent five years at Manchester City FC as an academy technical coach, where I engaged with players across all age groups while supervising development centres throughout Lancashire. My responsibilities included designing tailored training programs that aligned with the club's developmental philosophy and facilitating skill acquisition for academy athletes.

In addition to my club experience, I collaborated with UEFA for two years in a capacity that involved both on-site training ground engagement and the development of innovative coaching methodologies. This entailed filming complex drills for inclusion in web-based training resources aimed at broader coach education.

My involvement with the Scottish FA spanned four years, where I served as a performance coach tutor and mentor, delivering specialized training sessions for Academy Director Mark Vought and contributing to the overall strategic development of coaching standards within the academy framework.

Further, I worked as a tutor at Heysham High School in Lancashire for four years, where I developed and delivered a comprehensive curriculum tailored for sports students across multiple age categories, ensuring alignment with educational standards and athletic development.

Additionally, I served as an EPL advisor for Salisbury University's men's soccer program in the USA and held the position of Technical Director at Salisbury United FC for a decade. My coaching acumen extends to high school athletics, having been the Head Coach for three varsity teams.

I possess a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Science and Coaching from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in the UK, equipping me with a solid theoretical foundation to complement my extensive practical coaching experience.
